Online registration is available to residents of the Portage library district and those who are able to get a non-resident membership via reciprocal borrowing agreements with area libraries. Please take time to verify that you are eligible for a membership before applying. If you are unsure, you can always call us at (269) 329-4544 during our regular business hours.
Once you fill out your membership form and submit it, the library will go through a verification process and mail your card to you.You will be contacted if your application for membership is denied. It may take seven to ten days for your card to arrive once you submit an application.. If you need your membership sooner, please visit the library in person with appropriate identification.
Use of the library is free to all, but membership is a privilege reserved for those who support the district through library millage, district to district agreement, or by purchasing a membership. If you do not meet the criteria for membership, you may purchase a membership for a yearly fee. This can only be done in person. Currently, membership payments can be made in cash or checks only. The entire fee must be paid within the first three months of membership.
