Book Groups

We offer several venues for discussing the books that we love so much. In addition, we regularly partner with local organizations for community wide reading programs.

Book Discussion in a Bag: Come check out everything you need for a book discussion.

Weekend Bags: Got a weekend? Check out a bag with a date, a party, or a friends night in inside!

International Mystery Book Group: Come join us for the library’s new monthly drop-in International Mystery Book Discussion.

Open For Discussion: We have a large and dynamic book discussion group that meets monthly from September -November and January-May on the third Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Our informal discussions last one hour.

Reading Together: We partner yearly with the Kalamazoo Public Library, preparing programs that link us to the greater goal of sharing one book with all of Kalamazoo County.

Top Shelf Reads: TSR is especially for young professionals who need to unwind! Join us after work each month for drinks and a bite to eat offsite at a local micro-brewpub and restaurant to discuss edgy and offbeat reads. Our informal discussions last one hour, but participants are welcome to stay and hang out. This group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm beginning in September 2013.
