The Portage District Library is seeking a service-oriented individual to join the Portage District Library’s Adult Services staff as a Library Associate. The successful candidate will provide quality reference and reader’s advisory service to library patrons of all ages, develop and maintain a collection of materials which match the educational, reference, and recreational needs of the community, instruct and assist patrons in the use of library materials, equipment, and computers.
Library Aide I – Youth Services
Part-Time, 20 hours per week
$9.25 – $11.05 per hour
The Portage District Library has an immediate opening for a Library Aide in the Youth Services Department. The Library Aide should be an energetic, outgoing individual who can provide exceptional customer service and maintain an eye for detail. The main duties include sorting returned material according to classification code and returning material to the shelves or other designated area. Library Aides are also responsible for assisting patrons with electronic equipment and answering patron inquiries when possible. Additionally, Library Aides may be asked to provide assistance during programs, including set-up, tear-down and general help during larger programs. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.
